5d MarII is here!

It has been a very busy July and August here at Kristi Shanks Photography, but I love every minute of it. I just made two huge purchases which will make my images larger format, better quality, have better color correction, and faster processing time. I bought my new camera in July mainly for indoor weddings because of the awesome ISO, but now I'm using it all the time for every kind of session. It is great to have 2 camera with me all the time, no more changing lenses all the time! The Canon 5dMarII is a very large format professional camera -21megapixels, and it gives amazing quality. Since this camera produces such large format images I needed a faster computer to process the RAW images, so in August I broke down and bought the new iMac with the i7 processor. This is super fast and the screen in huge! I have to say it is still hard for me to get using to using an Apple, but now after 2 week I think I got most of it (the important things) figures out. Wonder what's next to buy on my list??? (a new lens..)

On a side note- I have been extremely busy so if you haven't seen your photographs on my blog, I am very sorry. I will still try to get all my sessions up, I am just running behind on updating my blog and facebook account! Bear with me! Thanks- Kristi

B2Bee Bridal Show- Sunday, August 29th, 2010

I am doing my very first wedding show this Sunday, August 29th at the Ramkota Event Center here in Sioux Falls, SD. It is from 12-4pm, free and open to all brides or soon to be brides, mom, and wedding party personal. I would love to have you stop by and see me at my booth. It will be the booth with the 8 ft tall pictures frame (pictures to come next week)! I would love it if you would mention it to any potential brides you know. Thanks! Dylan- Senior 2011

I had a great time taking Dylan's senior pictures. We went to a lot of new locations in town, which was awesome! I love the guitar pictures, I've always wanted to try these thanks for letting me. Madden - 1 yr. Pictures

You are a very busy little guy, thank goodness we were outside for these pictures, enough room for you to play and be yourself. You mom and dad brought the perfect props and outfits for you. I love the cake, very colorful. I think you are my first little one who actually destroyed the whole cake. Glad it was outside and not in the studio! Wonder if the outdoor campus noticed the orange frosting on the grass in the morning. So sorry! I had fun! Hope you like! Kristi

Jacob- Newborn

I never get tired of taking pictures of newborns. Just the size of them sends goose-bumps down my arms. Jacob was an awesome newborn to photograph. We didn't hear a peep out of him until we were almost done. On picture day he was 8 days old, perfect time for newborn pictures. I know big brother Jackson is extremely proud! Hope you like! Elliana - 1 yr old pictures

This was a very quiet photo session. Elliana, wasn't too sure about my camera or the studio lights flashing at her, but we did manage to find a few things to keep her in the studio and cracking a few smiles. She loved the rocking chair and of course the cake. Towards the end of the session she was laying of the floor exhausted from the hour event. I think she probably took an awesome nap for her mom! Sam- 1 year

What beautiful blue eyes and thick brown hair he has for only being 1. I had a great time with little Sam. I think after the hour shoot he was just starting to get used to me and my camera. I have a few more picture coming, I just switched to my Mac and I'm still trying to figure it out. I'll try to add them tomorrow! I hope you love the pictures. God Bless- Kristi

The Nagel Boys!

What characters these boys were! Silly to the core. Big brother Lincoln wasn't in the mood for pictures, but of course I bribed him with some smarties and it worked! Little Sully is now 1 yr. old. I remember when her was born and I did his newborn pictures. He is such a little trooper. I love the doctor outfit! God Bless- Kristi
