I saw this on the web and thought it would be fun to do with my kids. I ordered 16X20 posters of these to hang in their rooms! Lots of fun!

The "D' kids

I want to say Thank You to Cara for letting me photograph her two beautiful children. I had to resort to bribes for little two year old Grace in order to get her to stay on the backdrop and take a few pictures. Now I'll permanently have a stash of smarties in my pocket when taking small children's pictures. Little Rhys loved to be held by his mommy and wasn't to sure of my camera. Even at 3 weeks old he knew he was at a different place and wasn't to sure of it. We did get a few good shots of him in his car seat (covered w/ black suede). I am really loving taking little ones pictures so a huge thank you to all the families that have let me do what I love. Take pictures!

Baby K

I had my first indoor photo session with a beautiful three month old little girl, I'll abbreviate her name to "K". Since I don't officially have a studio or lights getting the correct flash exposure for the pictures was difficult. I learned that to do indoor photography I need to invest in some indoor lighting. which will hopefully be coming soon. Baby K took some beautiful pictures as you have probably seen above. I want to thank Baby K and her mom for letting me take her pictures, they were great sports for my first indoor session.

The Hage Kids

Here are some pictures of the Hage kids. I had an awesome time shooting them at a park here in Sioux Falls. Their mom is a very dear friend of mine and was sick of the standby portraits taken at chain studios, I hope these pictures live up to her expectations. I believe we got some original, fun, and beautiful pictures that capture her kids in the moment. I used my new flash as fill flash in many of these pictures and it worked wonderful! Thanks Hage Kids for letting me photograph you. I hope they'll be pictures you'll look back on when you're my age!

Shanks Kids

Thought these next three of my kids would make good pictures to hang in our living room.



Yesterday, I got to try out my new flash on my kids! We went to a relatives and took pictures out in his pasture and by some trees. I never even thought of using a flash outdoors, but the fill flash it produced was incredible on this sunny day. There was lots less editing in photoshop on these pictures! Hope you enjoy!

Playing in the Rain

One rainy day last week and the kids decided they wanted to play in the rain, so I let them! I got a few cute pictures!

Grace climbing up the ramp on her new playground. She was all smiles!

The first weekend in May we went up to Northern Minnesota to visit my sister (Jill) and her family. The plan for the weekend was for Jason (my husband) to help Tim finish their playground. Looking through the pictures you can see that they got most of it accomplished! Grace couldn't wait to play on her new playground and climbed up the ramp as fast as she could. We had some amazing sunrises in the mornings and since I was up early 5:40am each day with our little Julia, I got to enjoy them. Thanks for the awesome weekend Tim & Jill!

Swanstrom Family Photo Session

May 9th, was my first official family photo session. I went around Sioux Falls this prior week scouting for a good location and I found several. Since it rained a lot this week I chose 2 different bridge scenes by the river. I want to thank Emily, Ryan, Ainsley, Porter, and Trey Swanstrom for being such willing participants for my first shoot. They did an awesome job and the pictures turned out great!
