The Kestel Family

Wow! Wow! Wow! Isn't this family adorable? Even though it was blazing hot outside they were troopers throughout this hour long shoot and 3 location changes. What cute children! I hope you all love the pictures. I think they capture each child uniquely. We got some great family shots too! Good luck on your temporary move. Hope to see you again in the New Year.

Sioux Falls Stockyards

I spent 4 hours on Thursday taking pictures of the last cattle sale at the Sioux Falls Stockyards. My children have been going to the stockyards for 7 years to visit their grandma (who does/did the books for Central Livestock). They have really enjoyed seeing the cattle, hogs, and sheep. It was a sad day at the yards as the last draft of cattle went into the auction block. The Stockyards were open in Sioux Falls for 92 years and many farmers and buyers have spent years in these buildings. The auction barn was packed on this last day. It was an everlasting experience, one I am making onto a DVD for workers at the yards. I hope you enjoy!

Engagement Session

Wow, my first engagement session! I have to say I was a bit nervous, but since it was my brother in-law and his finance it made all the pressure go away. I really enjoyed this session, Jeremy & Chandra were very accommodating to all my different poses and locations. They are a couple who you can just look at and know they are meant to be together. I look forward to having Chandra in the family this coming October, she will be a great sister in-law! Many blessing!

Cowgirl

I saw a picture like this in a magazine and I thought, "I can do that!" What better model than my 14 month old little girl. I think it's just precious.

Field of Yellow

When going to my in-laws we drive by this beautiful field of yellow flowers. I have always wanted to take some pictures in it, and well yesterday I got up the courage to ask the farmer and he said, "YES!" He went on to tell me that it is just a bunch a weeds that he hasn't had the time to plow under and maybe in the next few weeks he'll get it to. I was very glad that I didn't waste anymore time fretting about asking permission or else these photographs never would have happened. It will be quite a different view in a few weeks when driving to my in laws, but at least there are pictures to remember!

What a hit!

Here is my husband playing ball with our 7yr old and 4 yr old. Needless to say he was pretty aggressive at this game of whiffle ball! He even managed dented the bat on this pitch! Gotta love him though!

The Holland Family

Hope you all enjoy these great pictures. Baby "W" just turned 6 months and was such a good sport as we juggled him around to all of my crazy different outdoor locations. He only gave up a few smiles but we did get some beautiful shots of him anyways. It was a gorgeous day outside, except for the wind, but that's what you get living in South Dakota: WIND! Thanks again Holland family for letting me take these photo's, I hope you found a few to treasure.
